Hi! My name is Emily and I have a passion for eyebrows.

Perhaps a slightly odd thing to be passionate about, but considering how much time I have spent in the past five years looking at eyebrows, studying about eyebrows, consulting on eyebrows, playing with eyebrows, and talking about eyebrows, it makes sense that I see eyebrows wherever I go, and love that I do!

It all began in Amsterdam when I started working for a fantastic company called Delete-Professionals in Waxing (https://www.delete-waxing.com/en/). My trainer there also had the eyebrow bug, and although I could Brazilian with the best of them (and was rated their Number One Wax Angel for both years I worked with them), it was eyebrows that caught my fancy.

Everyone’s face is unique, and while there are some eyebrow basics that should generally be followed, I do not believe in the stencil approach. Beauty is subjective, and if I can craft the eyebrow shape that perfectly compliments the beauty mark you have on your cheek that you love, or the pair of glasses you always wear, or the shape of your eyes versus the dimples at the corners of your mouth, then that is what I shall do. The personality of the eyebrow wearer is also definitely taken into consideration.

I chose threading as my tool of choice because:

1. It is far more accurate than runny wax
2. It can grab all the tiny soft hairs that obscure the perfect shape
3. The hairs only have to be as long as the thickness of the thread to be pulled out, so the client can come in to be threaded as soon as they feel it is necessary
4. It is great for those with sensitive skin and all hair types

Warning. I am a perfectionist. If you come to me to get your upper-lip threaded, you can be damn sure that every little one of those tiny buggers will be gone when you leave.

Is threading painful? Well, it depends on whom you ask. Some of my clients can sleep through the procedure and others require some really interesting conversation to take their minds off of it. Fortunately, I have a lot of things to talk about and will happily regale you with stories of the time I sang for the Emperor and Empress of Japan, or taught yoga in Sicily, or discovered the most delicious recipe for gluten free chocolate cake ever.
